Daniel Tierney

Daniel Tierney is the Director and Chief Information Officer of the US. Army Dental Information Systems Center (USA DISC) which provides dental electronic health documentation and clinical imaging services to 132 dental clinics across all branches of the DoD. His responsibilities include development, implementation, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and helpdesk support across the full spectrum of DoD's operational footprint.

Previous assignments include Chief of Strategy, Policy, and Plans at the Army's medical training command, and CIO at the 25-bed Army Community Hospital at Fort Sill, OK with a 55k beneficiary population. Daniel also served as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) for communications and technology for a 168th Multifunctional Medical Battalion on the South Korean peninsula and the 86th Combat Support Hospital at Fort Campbell, KY. He was the executive officer for the 772nd Forward Surgical Team and had the privilege to command at Foxtrot 232nd Medical Battalion, Army's Combat Medic training company.

Daniel received his undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of West Florida and earned his Master in Information Systems from Florida International University.

Daniel's professional certifications include: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS), ITILV3 Foundation, Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB), and is a board-certified fellow at the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

He is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Daniel is stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX, with his wife Megan and their three children Caleb, Brian, and Aria.

His hobbies include reading, fishing, running, and exploring the great American outdoors with his children.
