In the fast-paced global business environment, being a lifelong learner will give you an edge and keep you sharp on the latest trends. Which is why FIU Business has launched a new certificate program, Thinking Like a Consultant.

Led by Edgardo Pappacena, adjunct professor of international business, the program provides practical tools and real-world insights. He brings over 40 years of experience in consulting firms across 50 countries, and has held executive leadership roles at global, regional and national levels.

“In today’s business world, people are often confused by a complex and complicated world,” said Pappacena. “Having the right skills and the right mindset to approach the world can significantly advance your career.”

This new program, offered in-person at the FIU Modesto M. Maidique Campus, is designed for anyone looking to sharpen their problem-solving skills, whether they’re a working as an in-house consultant, freelancer or looking to enhance their own professional skillset.

The aim of the three-day seminar is to develop analytical skills, master proven methodologies that guide decision-making and gain hands-on tools and techniques that can be applied to daily work in any industry.

“All consultants carry in their head a very clear idea of certain key concepts, how we think, how we approach clients’ problems,” said Pappacena. “You have to translate those ideas into action.”

By exploring a number of tried-and-true consulting frameworks, participants will be enabled and empowered to connect ideas and evaluate their projects in real time.

The program fee includes lunch, parking and course materials. All sessions must be attended to obtain the certificate.
